Viewers are spoilt for choice as action, comedy and romance are part of the festive fare of high profile film releases during the Diwili season. Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta in Blue The action thriller boasts breathtaking underwater stunts in a hunt for treasure buried deep below the sea. A multistarrer with an impressive star cast, it was shot on the beaches of the Bahamas. An interesting fact is that Akshay Kumar will be seen in a role that is either totally negative or has several negative traits. Directed by Anthony d'Souza, it is a commercial entertainer, and the Kylie Minogue item number is an added bonanza. Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan in Main aur Mrs Khanna Salman Khan is back in demand after the success of Wanted. But Main aur Mrs Khanna is not a typical Salman film and there is speculation as to what the actual length of his role in the film will be. He plays a professional who chases success and wealth. Kareena Kapoor who rose to the top with a flawless performance in Jab We Met plays the female lead. She has to decide between her commitment to her husband, and a stranger (Sohail Khan) who wins her trust. The film title is loosely translated as 'Mrs Khanna and me'. An airport forms the venue for the drama of three individuals at the crossroads of their lives. Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan in All the Best A comedy of mistaken identities with Fardeen Khan and Ajay Devgan in the lead. Although not as high profile as the other two, comedy is now a very popular genre with the Indian masses and this one may come out on top. Past DiwalisGolmaal Returns, also an Ajay Devgan comedy, struck gold at the box office last Diwali. The year before that witnessed a clash of the titans. Om Shanti Om was a romantic comedy cum revenge saga. It was pitted against the much hyped Sanjay Leela Bansali directed Saawariya, and emerged the hands down winner, at least at the box office. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone delivered 2007's biggest blockbuster in Om Shanti Om, and its box office collections set the gold standard until Aamir Khan's Ghajini came along in late 2008. However Saawariya launched its lead pair Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, whose performances were highly appreciated.
