The multistarrer is fantasy, action, romance and laugh riot all rolled into one. The slick entertainer kepeps suspense and humor alive until the last reel.

Dhoom 2 released in 2006, was for a long time regarded as one of the biggest Bollywood hits of the multiplex era.

In Dhoom 2 Police are Perplexed by a Series of Daring RobberiesThe story begins aboard a train in the South African desert, where the booty is the crown diamond of the Queen of England. No one knows the real identity of the thief - who never fails to leave an 'A' sign after each raid.

One daring act follows the other, and nothing seems to deter the resourceful Mr A (Hrithik Roshan) who continues his activites in the presence of armed police forces.

In desperation, police officer Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachhan) sends an accomplice, a young girl called Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai), to join hands with Mr A and nab him redhanded.

The plan succeeds initially. The accomplice wins Mr A's trust and turns partner in crime.

The action then shifts to Brazil, where the next robbery, designed to trap Mr A while on the job, will take place. But things go wrong when the accomplice starts questioning herself and her role in the whole scheme of lies and deception.

The Narrative is Swift, Punctuated by Lberal doses of Humor

Dhoom 2 starts off as a cops and robbers tale. The pace slows down intermittently to allow for some comic interludes between the police officer, his aide and an attractive Brazilian hostess. It regains momentum when sparks begin to fly between Mr A and his partner-in-disguise, and suddenly turns into a high voltage drama of love, trust and betrayal. The viewer is kept guessing till the end, and therein lies its biggest strength.

Hrithik Roshan steals the limelight in a negative role. He is the cunning, suave and charismatic Mr A whose priorities change overnight. Aishwarya Rai, as the beautiful accomplice, handles the transition from a street smart petty thief, to a beautiful woman torn between conflicting loyalties very well.

Abhishek Bachhan packs tongue in cheek humor into his role of cop jai Dixit, who also has a heart and a strong sense of fair play.

Uday Chopra plays the bumbling police aide and adds the comic angle to the nail biting drama. Bipasha Basu has a double role. Sonali is Jai's trigger happy colleague, and her twin Monali a simple beach loving girl who plays hostess to the cops. The choregraphy is outstanding, and the stunts neatly executed. Hrithik is generally regarded as the best dancer in Bollywood today.
